Business Development Manager

The Role: The Business Development Manager will have a national remit and their core role is to set & execute a new business sales strategy across the UK which will ultimately be carried out by a team of Territory Sales Managers & Internal Sales professionals. The Business Development Manager will be selling a vast array of products & services associated with the health and safety market within process end users (food & bev, oil & gas, utilities, pharma, energy, chemical, and steel processing etc).

The Business Development Manager will be specifying in these solutions, such as but not limited to: lock our tagging, safety signage, first aid materials, and PPE for organisations to do their own signage, safety signage, and safety inspection services. The Business Development Manager will strategically look how their target organisations buy, what solutions they may need, and then put together proposals that will suit their direct sales model.

This role is a high-level, new business role. As such, the Business Development Manager will need to understand specification led sales processes & framework agreements within large process manufacturing organisations. You will join a team of five other Business Development Managers across the UK who all have their own verticals, but the team ethos will support you in utilising their previous strategies that could be implemented in your area.

They have a track record of developing people, giving great careers, and investing in their brand. They have recently streamlined their offering to the customer which has bred further opportunity to grow the team - hence the Business Development Manager position.

We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Have a high-level, strategic new business background within the Process & Manufacturing sectors
  • Must have a track-record of selling a health & safety solution into Commercial end-users
  • Have sold to H&S Executives, Senior Buyers, and Production Director level people
  • Organised, methodical, and strategic in approach
  • Understands selling direct or through a specialist distributor
  • A confident team player who wants to earn
  • A strong track record in new business wins is a must on anyone's CV
  • Clean driving licence

Salary: Up to £50k Basic salary DOE + 30% OTE (year 1) - can be doubled on over achievement + Car + pension + 21 days holiday (rises with length of service) + laptop/mobile
