Export Sales Manager

The Role: BMS Performance are delighted to be working with a global player who are one of the world's largest distributors of CAT Power Generation products & Accessories. Targeting the African & Middle East markets, the Export Sales Manager will be based in the UK and working closely with our client's regional office network to provide turn-key solutions within the mining, industrial, manufacturing, and data centre markets. The end user client base will comprise of African, European, Indian, and Asian companies who are all operating within Africa. As such, this is an extremely diverse sales role speaking with lots of different people & nationalities.

The Export Sales Manager will be well supported by an internal sales admin and contracts team in Slough, as well as a global Engineering & Project Management team who are based in each region you will be working in. The Export Sales Manager will be generating new business via networking, country visits, and outbound sales activity to identify the right decision makers across key projects happening in Africa and the Middle East where power generation is required. The Export Sales manager will be working towards uncapped commissions on every project order they secure - the sales cycle length could be weeks for a one-off capital equipment sale, through to months & years for major turn-key power plant projects.

We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Come from a Power Generation, GenSet, or Energy Equipment background
  • Have experience in Export sales - preferably to African & Middle Eastern countries
  • Comfortable commuting to the office in Slough at least 1 day per week
  • Readily available for international travel to Africa & the Middle East
  • Are personable and experienced in dealing with people from all around the world
  • Are able to work as part of a wider team to ensure success

Salary: £50k basic salary, Year 1 £15k Uncapped Commissions (Year 2 expected £50k+ Commissions), BUPA Healthcare, 25 days holiday + stats, phone, laptop, enhanced pension scheme
