THE ROLE: As a Business Development Manager, 60% of your time will be spent upselling within long term contract customer accounts and identifying ways to increase turnover. 40% of your time will be prospecting and closing new business opportunities. Your leads will be self-sourced, from your existing pipeline and your established network. You will also receive some from internal teams. Face to face customer meetings are a big part of the job and this can span a diverse industry sector from NHS to Pharma to Engineering. Taking orders up to £500k you will be selling a range of business services into the medical industry, dealing with NHS and pharmaceutical companies you will be building relationships with Directors, Buyers, Managers and Quality and Purchasing teams. Much of the role will be protecting and growing the spend within your larger customer accounts so a high level of service and account management is required.

THE PERSON: Our client is looking for a high performing sales professional with 12 months + experience in a face to face selling position, this can come from both internal and external roles. Full training will be provided so experience in this industry is not essential. You will need to be autonomous, enthusiastic, motivated and forward thinking to succeed in this role.

· 12 months or more of sales experience in either hybrid or field sales role.

· Proven track record of winning business and managing/upselling to accounts

· Full driving licence and happy driving daily

· Team player and results driven sales person wanting step up in their career.
