Specification Manager

THE ROLE: As a Specification Manager within this division of the business, you will have the opportunity to identify and win business with architects, main contractors, specialist installers and process companies. Representing a long established, global brand of technical and architectural glass, you will look to identify and gain specifications on commercial and public sector projects within the North of the UK and Scotland. You will be well supported with a sophisticated CRM, industry lead tools and a very experienced sales, technical and marketing team around you. This role will involve long term project management, a spinning of many plates and working on tender frameworks for specific product requirements.. The position will require you to deliver CPD presentations to architects, manage relationships with main and regional contractors as well as understating the specialist installer and process companies. The role would suit either an experienced construction sales candidate seeking a new challenge or this could also suit a bright driven junior construction candidate with a desire to break into a blue chip career. Key to success in this role is a desire to work hard, work collaboratively and demonstrate effective communication techniques across a variety of stakeholders. Candidates should have a full driving licence, a willingness to cover a large area and be happy with weekly contact in the North West HQ.

We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • 2 years or more working in field sales within construction sector
  • Have sold a product to either contractors, merchants, distribution or specifiers
  • Ability to manage a pipeline of projects and long sales cycle
  • A consultative, driven and professional salesperson with good attention to detail
  • Any experience of glass, facades cladding or exterior building products would be desirable

Salary: up to £50,000 basic salary, plus 10% OTE, company car, mobile, laptop, 25 days holiday, pension scheme
