BMS are delighted to be partnering with a fantastic, highly successful Global organisation to identify their next Sales Director for Japan who will lead and grow their business across the region. We are seeking an experienced and driven individual to take on this a senior leadership role responsible for managing a team of field-based sales professionals and driving revenue through reseller partners across the country, who focus on end users from within a range of commercial sectors.

The Role

As Sales Director, you will define and execute the country sales strategy, ensuring strong performance across key channels. You will lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team while strengthening relationships with reseller partners and expanding market presence in targeted industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and motivate a team of sales professionals to achieve and exceed targets
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for Japan across a range of commercial markets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with reseller and channel partners
  • Identify new business opportunities and drive growth within key accounts
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and regional leadership teams
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform strategy
  • Deliver accurate forecasting and reporting to senior leadership

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role within technology or related sectors
  • The ability to demonstrate having worked in an environment where you have played a significant part in implementing transformation or change.
  • Strong track record of managing channel sales and reseller ecosystems
  • Experience selling into a range of commercial environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Deep understanding of the Japanese market and business culture
  • Fluent in Japanese and English communication skills
