Role Overview: Project Engineer - Liverpool Area

As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering site utility expansion projects, working closely with the Project Manager, utilities team, and external contractors. This is a hands-on project-focused role, offering a high level of autonomy and exposure to large-scale capital projects within a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering utilities projects in a manufacturing setting and be comfortable working across multiple disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting site utility expansion projects relating to HVAC, water, gas, compressed air and steam systems.
  • Utility consumption modelling and calculations using thermodynamic principles.
  • Developing project scopes, plans and documentation to support site expansion activities.
  • Creation and review of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Managing and coordinating contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with site and regulatory standards.
  • Working collaboratively with the utilities team and other site-based engineers.
  • Supporting the Project Manager with day-to-day project activities and ad-hoc engineering tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working on utilities projects within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical, chemical, brewing, or regulated manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of utility systems and thermodynamic principles.
  • Degree, HNC or HND qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or similar discipline.
  • Comfortable working autonomously on site-based projects and liaising with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style.
