A well-established UK distributor of non-food consumables is expanding its national accounts team following sustained growth across key sectors. They supply a range of businesses with paper products, hygiene and cleaning supplies, medical disposables, and food packaging. With a strong national network and an excellent reputation for service and reliability, the company offers comprehensive training, ongoing development, and strong progression opportunities.

The Role

We are seeking a commercially focused National Account Manager to support and develop a mixed portfolio of existing national accounts across pub groups, QSR, leisure, and travel sectors. Alongside account development, you will play a key part in identifying and onboarding new customer groups to support wider business growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage, retain, and develop a portfolio of national accounts.
  • Identify new opportunities within aligned customer groups including:
  • Pub groups
  • Leisure (bowling centres, garden centres, casinos, service stations)
  • QSR and high-street food brands
  • Travel & transport (e.g., ferry operators)
  • Deliver account plans that drive long-term growth and profitability.
  • Manage tenders, pricing proposals, and commercial negotiations at senior level.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure service excellence.
  • Weekly structure includes:
  • 1 office day (7 regional options available in England)
  • 1 day working from home
  • 3 days meeting customers across the UK
  • Overnight stays will be required; full autonomy over diary and territory planning.

About You

  • Experience managing national or large multi-site accounts.
  • A background selling into similar customer channels (pub groups, QSR, leisure, travel).
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, with experience negotiating at procurement level.
  • The ability to manage complex pipelines and long-term customer programmes.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Candidates currently operating at KAM level looking to step up are encouraged to apply.
