Role Overview:

As the Marketing Manager, you will play a key leadership role, driving marketing initiatives that not only raise awareness but also boost delegate attendance and secure commercial sponsorships. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in marketing management, possess strong leadership skills, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where deadlines and collaboration are crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, execution, and optimisation of multi-channel marketing campaigns in close collaboration with conference producers and the marketing team, ensuring alignment with event goals and KPIs.
  • Oversee the creation and design of marketing content across various platforms, including websites, social media, email campaigns, brochures, and other promotional materials.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement the most effective marketing channels and strategies to reach target audiences and drive event attendance and sponsorship.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key marketing partners, including media outlets, trade associations, and influencers, negotiating deals to maximise event visibility and exposure.
  • Work closely with sponsors to ensure they receive maximum promotional value, driving joint marketing efforts that enhance event visibility.
  • Draft, review, and distribute press releases to secure media coverage and increase event awareness.
  • Oversee and manage email marketing campaigns, ensuring quality and accuracy of content, and ensuring alignment with overall campaign objectives.
  • Continuously track, analyse, and optimise the performance of all digital marketing activities to maximise ROI and achieve campaign goals.
  • Produce detailed post-event reports, providing data-driven insights and actionable recommendations for future marketing efforts.
  • Develop tracking mechanisms, such as unique URLs, to measure campaign success, lead generation, and conversion rates.
  • Take a proactive role in team meetings, contributing fresh ideas and strategic input to enhance marketing effectiveness and overall business growth.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, providing guidance, training, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a senior marketing role, ideally within the events or conference sector.
  • Strong track record of developing and executing multi-channel marketing strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in content creation, press releases, and media relations.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing tactics, including email marketing, social media, SEO, and paid advertising.
  • Highly organised with a keen ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to assess campaign performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with marketing automation tools and analytics platforms is a plus.
  • Creative and strategic thinker, with a passion for driving innovative marketing campaigns.
