Our client is a leading organisation within the food manufacturing sector, recognised for its high‑performance production environment, strong engineering culture, and commitment to continuous improvement. Due to ongoing investment and growth, they are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team at their Kildare facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically or electrically skilled technician looking to develop within a fast‑paced, highly automated plant.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of production equipment across the site. Working as part of a skilled engineering team, the successful candidate will support both planned and reactive maintenance activities while contributing to process improvements and equipment optimisation. The role operates on a rotating shift pattern and requires a strong technical foundation, with the ability to work across mechanical and electrical disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on production machinery and utilities.
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives, equipment upgrades, and reliability projects.
* Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance.
* Ensure all work is completed in line with safety standards, quality requirements, and site procedures.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
* Participate in technical assessments, training, and upskilling as required.
* Contribute to a positive engineering culture focused on teamwork, safety, and high performance.
Qualifications and Experience
* Time‑served Mechanical or Electrical qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or high‑volume production environment.
* Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems.
* Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
* Experience with automated equipment, conveyors, motors, pneumatics, or PLC‑driven systems is advantageous.
* A rounded technical skillset is preferred; training and mentoring will be provided to strengthen weaker areas.
Package
* Salary: €62,500 - €69,000
