Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join their team, responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of a range of specialised equipment within rail depots. You will play a key role in ensuring the optimal operation and safety of critical infrastructure, including electrical shutter doors, rail carriage wash plants, controlled emission toilet (CET) extraction systems, fluid and fuel storage/dispensing systems, and associated pumps, motors, valves, and mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
o Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance on depot equipment such as electrical shutter doors, rail carriage wash plants, CET systems, fluid/fuel storage systems, and related equipment.
o Perform regular checks on mechanical and electrical systems including pumps, motors, valves, and control panels to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
o Adhere to scheduled maintenance tasks as per manufacturer recommendations and company protocols to minimize downtime and maximize equipment life.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
o Recognized engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
o Proven experience in maintaining and repairing industrial equipment, ideally in a rail depot, manufacturing, or similar environment.
o Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, pumps, and control systems
