A leading player in the Industrial manufacturing industry is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join their team in Cork!
THE COMPANY:
With over 100 years of practice, our client is a market leader in the Industrial manufacturing industry across Ireland and the UK. They have built a sterling reputation not only for excellence and quality products but also for strong relationships with their large client base. With a workforce in the hundreds and a turnover in the high millions, our client is looking to expand their highly successful team with a talented on-site Health & Safety Officer.
THE ROLE:
Based on their site in Cork, the successful Health & Safety Officer will be responsible for:
- A heavy emphasis on designing, managing, and implementing Health & Safety policies and systems
- Performing risk assessments, producing method statements, and conducting site inspections and audits
- Implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance and safety standards are met
- Overseeing site inductions and delivering manual handling training to employees
- Documenting accidents/near misses and driving corrective changes to prevent future incidents
- Managing all Health & Safety paperwork and liaising with senior on-site management regarding H&S strategy
THE PERSON:
We are looking to speak to candidates with the following backgrounds:
- Ideally a strong background in Health & Safety within the manufacturing or production sector
- A strong Health & Safety background in construction will also be considered
- Capability of working at senior level with prior experience advantageous
- A proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential safety issues
THE PACKAGE:
- Salary: €65,000-€75,000 (negotiable DOE )
