Head of Sales FMCG

We are recruiting for a Head of Sales role covering Ireland.

This is a hybrid role that will see you working 3 days from home or out on the road and 2 days in the Dublin-based office.

Reporting to the Managing Director you will play a pivotal role as a member of the senior executive team.

You will set the direction and agenda for the sales business whilst engaging with the other senior executives to assist in developing overall corporate strategies.

Your primary responsibilities will be to achieve and exceed sales revenue and growth targets in all divisions and drive efficiencies across the business. Shared P+L accountability will enable you to set budgets and implement sales activities that deliver revenue, sales, and profitability targets.

Providing direction and leadership to the sales operations will be instrumental to your success. You will oversee a team of 35 direct and indirect salespeople across national accounts, van sales, and retail account managers.

They work with a diverse portfolio of high-profile brands within the FMCG market across many categories such as food, beverage, grocery, and nonfood. The sales teams sell to all major retailers such as Dunnes & Tesco. They also sell to distribution groups such as BWG, Musgraves, and smaller independents.

The successful Head of Sales applicant will come with a proven track record of managing a field base team within the FMCG industry. Ideally, you will have 2nd line management experience although this is not necessary.

Previous experience and knowledge of the key buyers within the multiplies are essential.

You will be a hands-on leader and not be afraid to get your hands dirty when required. You will lead from the front and be proactive in your approach. You will have the ability to think on your feet, be strategic and analytic with your sales strategy and build long-standing relationships both internally and externally.

The base salary is negotiable however we do envisage this to be between €90,000 - €120,000.

Company car allowance, pension, 25 days leave, and 20% bonus, paid quarterly.
