Head of Sales (Player Manager)

A chance to lead the New Business sales team of a fast-growth, innovative learning-tech provider.

Location: Bristol (1 day per week in the Bristol office)

Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 (forecasted earnings £130,000+)

- Leading a team of 2 sales reps in a player manager role

- Hybrid working - 1 day per week in central Bristol

The Role: This is an exciting opportunity to run and grow the new business sales function of a learning management system provider based in Bristol. Reporting to the CCO, you will immediately split your time between the management of the existing, 2-person sales team and working towards your own personal sales quota. As you drive performance through the first and second years, you will be expected to scale the sales team, and recruit for growth.

It is imperative that you are a motivated, and capable salesperson, who is driven to affect this team's performance through your own sales - not just through the performance optimisation in the team. This is and will continue to be a crucial role in the company's growth trajectory.

As an industry recognised provider of apprenticeship training in the UK, the company are proud to sit on industry steering committees, that are regularly attended by government ministers and will affect policy. In time, the successful applicant will be invited to contribute and attend these committees.

The Company: Our client is a highly regarded Learning Management System (LMS) provider, who's platform is built to service the UK apprenticeship space. Formed in 2017 the company has built a significant client base of commercial companies and industry training providers, who use the tool to run apprenticeship programmes.

They service customers in multiple sectors, including some of the UK's biggest and best-known brands, as well as helping companies who are far smaller too.

The company employs over 80 people right now, and is looking to scale towards a business event over the next 5 years and is looking for driven and high-impact hires who can help them on this journey.

The company have a strong and effective GTM playbook, currently being implemented by their CCO. They are looking for a sales leader who can utilise this but also help them to hone and develop their approach by gathering market feedback.

As Sales Leader (EMEA) your responsibilities will include:

  • Management of 2 sales reps
  • Carrying a significant personal quota - to be hit by closing enterprise level deals.
  • Reporting to the CCO on team performance, market insight and sales process
  • Monitoring sales effectiveness and advising on process improvement.

For this role, we are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • 3 + Years of sales leadership experience, in addition to;
  • 5 + Years of enterprise sales experience
  • Experience of coaching and developing a sales team
  • Ideal exposure in the learning tech space. Other industry backgrounds encouraged to apply.
