Position Overview

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing roof window systems across a wide customer base. This role combines technical expertise with strong communication skills, ensuring customers receive a professional, efficient, and positive service experience. The position involves field‑based travel, occasional overnight stays, and close collaboration with internal teams to ensure service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct thorough inspections of installed products to identify issues or potential faults. * Diagnose and repair technical problems promptly and effectively. * Deliver excellent customer service while managing expectations in line with company policies. * Maintain and monitor all tools, equipment, and service materials. * Complete detailed service reports, including serial numbers, images, and job completion documentation. * Promote and adhere to Health & Safety standards at all times, challenging unsafe behaviours where necessary. * Support other service engineers when required. * Carry out occasional overnight stays to meet customer needs. * Represent the company positively in all customer interactions and act as a role model internally. * Liaise with internal departments to ensure effective communication and smooth service delivery. * Undertake additional tasks as required within the scope of the role.

Skills & Experience

* Full clean driving licence (essential), as the role involves extensive travel.
* Experience in field‑based servicing or maintenance roles.
* Roofing experience or working‑at‑height training (desirable).
* Proven experience in a similar technical or service‑focused position.
* Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, adaptable to homeowners, merchants, and builders. * Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks.
* Comfortable working at height (ladders, scaffolding, platforms).
