About the Company

Our client is a global engineering manufacturer specialising in medical gas pipeline systems and associated equipment used throughout hospitals. Their products play a critical role in supplying oxygen, medical air and vacuum systems that support patient care every day.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an additional Field Service Engineer to join their London team. You'll become part of an experienced, close-knit group with excellent staff retention and extensive technical support, receiving structured training before taking ownership of your own territory.

Role Overview: Field Service Engineer

This is a field-based role covering hospitals across London and the surrounding areas. You'll carry out planned maintenance, inspections, servicing and repairs on medical gas equipment including compressors, vacuum systems, manifolds and terminal units.

For the first six months you'll complete a structured training programme, combining product training at the Derby headquarters with on-site mentoring from experienced engineers. Once fully trained, you'll manage your own workload while continuing to receive support from an established regional team.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair medical air compressors and vacuum systems
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and inspections within hospitals
• Replace seals, regulators and components on medical gas manifolds
• Test medical gas outlets and terminal units within theatres and hospital wards
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and complete repairs
• Complete service documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare standards
• Build strong relationships with hospital engineering teams and customers
• Participate in the on-call rota and occasional weekend work

What We're Looking For

• Electromechanical engineering experience
• Background working on compressors, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics or industrial gas systems
• Strong fault-finding skills across both mechanical and electrical equipment
• Previous field service or maintenance experience
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn a specialist industry
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence

Package

• Salary up to £39,500 + £5,000 London Weighting
• Typical earnings around £60,000 including overtime and additional payments
• Paid overtime at 1.5x (typically 5-10 hours per week)
