The role of Commercial Director

The successful candidate will be an experienced leader who brings sales pedigree, experience of selling through distributors/resellers, a passion for data driven decision making and a background with demonstrated performance improvement.

The role involves the following responsibilities:

  • Drive the commercial strategy, defining where to compete and how, setting long term commercial goals, identifying growth opportunities.
  • Spearhead the sales growth and market penetration in the chosen (sub)vertical markets and geographies.
  • Lead Magicard's next generation products to the market
  • Using data to fuel decision making in sales, marketing, and pricing.
  • Drive new business, through distributors and direct to end users.
  • Management of sales personnel within EMEA/APAC.

Fit of the role of Commercial Director in the organisation

Reporting to the General Manager for EMEA and APAC.

Magicard are looking for a strong team player who understands how to work closely with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth. You can only achieve this by collaborating hand-in-glove with Product Management, Engineering/R&D and Marketing departments and with their leadership to deliver a joined up cohesive approach to the market.

For this role of Commercial Director, we are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • 5 + years, international, b2b sales-leadership experience ideally, in one of the following sectors: Label/card printing, telephony, Point of sale, hand-held scanners, smart devices or office A/V equipment
  • Candidates whose experience sits outside of these areas, but within the broader manufacturing space are welcome to apply, should they meet the other criteria
  • Experience of selling through distributors/resellers
  • Experience of leading international expansion
  • Additional experience of working in, or with a b2b marketing function
  • A hunger for growth
  • Comfortable with regular travel to the Magicard site in Weymouth and across the territory to meet colleagues/clients/partners.
