Business Development Manager

The Role: Working for UK Manufacturer of ceramics, brassware & sanitary products, the BDM will be managing a portfolio of independent buying groups, specialist showroom and trade retailers in the southern home counties. Selling a vast array of bathroom & washroom products (sinks, showers, toilets, baths, taps etc) you will be both managing existing key account in the region as well developing dormant and low spend customers through face to face visits and business reviews. They have an excellent reputation with buying groups and are rated as best in class on customer service, delivery and quality. The BDM role will be to build rapport & relationships with Trade Counter Sales and Branch Management across the defined region, leading trade mornings with product demos, business planning and range reviews to help maximise customer revenue. You will be pushing promotions, introducing new ranges, and selling merchandising space in branch to directly execute the strategic account plans set out by the Key Account Managers and higher management.

The Business Development Manager will be conducting around 5 face to face appointments with clients per day and the desired outcome of those meetings is to upsell, cross well and drive orders across their account base. Support from the team and an experienced management team is on hand for up and comer candidates.

We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:
  • Have a background in trade, showroom sales or have dealt with buying groups in the bathroom or kitchen sector
  • A background in bathrooms, washrooms, kitchens or flooring product
  • Understanding of the B2B sales process
  • Clear communicator both written and verbal
  • Team player, organised, and have strong sales potential
  • Full & Clean Driving license
Salary: Up to £50,000 basic salary, £12k bonus + Car + Pension + healthcare + 25 days holiday
