Nine Telecom needed a new team to partner with the field sales team to encourage account retention


Nine Telecom provides telephony and connectivity solutions for businesses across the UK. An award winning business leading the market in voice and data communications with a turnover of £50 million.


Recruitment Challenge

To encourage account retention and improve customer services, Nine Telecom decided to expand their sales team and take on 6 new Account Executives to support the field sales team.

The Account Executives would be partnered with a member of the field sales team to increase the number of meetings, help uncover client needs and strengthen customer relationships.

Candidate Attraction

Held a series of planning meetings with key stakeholders to understand the competencies, values and attitudes important to Nine Telecom and their customers.

A branded advertising campaign across multiple channels including: social media, job boards and the BMS site used to attract candidates.

Assessment Centres

3 assessment centres were held over 2 weeks and tailored to the key values and behaviours specified by Nine Telecom, focused around: strategic thinking, customer service, commercial awareness and teamwork.

As the roles are primarily telephone based, candidates began the day by introducing themselves from behind a screen. 1-on-1 role plays followed, with the assessors taking on the role of a buyer.
