To grow their new London office, Cvent needed to recruit quickly to build and develop their internal sales team
After continued success in the US, Cvent opened their first European office in London in 2013. They specialise in meetings management technology. They offer web-based software for meeting site selection, online event registration, event management, email marketing, and web surveys.
With demand growing, Cvent needed to build and grow their sales team rapidly by taking on 4 graduates as Internal Business Development Executives.
They were looking for energetic and enthusiastic graduates to match their office dynamic and company culture. They wanted to get them on the current US based training course rather than waiting until next quarter, so recruiting quickly was key.
Held a scoping meeting to define the competencies, values and attitudes important to Cvent. We promoted the roles across multiple channels including social media, job boards and the BMS website.
The Sales Development Lead attended 3 assessment centres, each with between 30 and 40 graduates.
Although a positive attitude, articulation and enthusiasm were key, the assessment also gave them the opportunity to see how they performed in real commercial situations.
Candidates were observed as they performed group planning exercises and one-on-one role plays designed to test their current commercial understanding, communication skills and attitude.
