New growth brings graduate talent

An opportunity for growth in rural locations left Camelot with a gap in their sales team that needed to be filled fast

ABOUT CAMELOT

Camelot have been running the UK National Lottery since its inception 20 years ago. They’ve helped fund the biggest programme of social regeneration seen in the UK since the 19th century.

WHAT WE DID

Recruitment Challenge

Shoppers want greater convenience, Camelot were quick to recognise this growing opportunity for business. 38 Retail Sales Executives were required on a temporary contract within 6 months.

Maximising sales for this growth would require experienced sales teams, but this left a gap within their established client base that needed to be filled quickly.

Candidate Attraction

A multi-channel candidate attraction strategy was put in place using the power of the well-recognised brand across sites including: Jobsite, Total Jobs, The Grocer and the BMS website.

Accessed our database of previously registered candidates who had all been assessed through face-to-face interviews and identified candidates right for Camelot.

Assessment Centres

Assessment centres were conducted over 2 weeks across the UK to evaluate graduates against the competencies defined by Camelot after a series of scoping meetings with key stakeholders.

These included sales simulation exercises, group activities and interviews specifically designed to draw out the skills Camelot wanted to recruit.

OTHER CASE STUDIES

The assessments gave a real insight into how candidates might perform, seeing people with potential and a real aptitude for sales.

BMS took care of all our recruitment needs & saved us a significant amount of time by ensuring we were only dealing with the best candidates.
