Why did your recruitment needs arise?
We are establishing operations in Europe for the EU and UK markets and it was time to recruit for our first UK Business Development Manager.

What method were you using to recruit before working with BMS, and what challenges had you faced?
Not having hired in the UK before our main challenge was not knowing what to expect generally with recruitment here, ranging from what a realistic and competitive compensation / benefits package for our role would be through to how strong the candidate pool was and timing to find the right person for our role.

What were the key requirements you outlined to BMS & what did we do to fulfil this need? (your thoughts on timelines, assessment process etc)
Our ultimate requirement was finding the right person – not just any person as well as ideally someone with relevant experience working with the industries and customers we work with and with a strong technical aptitude. Within our first meeting, I quickly realised that BMS was a strong match for us as Rob truly spoke our language in terms of industries and environments / customers and partners. This quickly gave me confidence that our role would be well understood.

What did you think of the candidate quality?
Candidate quality was great and almost made it difficult to shortlist. Candidates ranged from not as experienced, through to 20+ years experience which was something we discussed prior to the process, that we were open to considering this spectrum.

How did BMS add value to the recruitment process?
The timing from going live with an advert / head hunting (sorry if this isn’t the right term) to presenting candidates was less than a week. This alone was a major value add. The other part that stands out was the set weekly update call. I always knew where BMS was at in the process.

What would you say was the best part of the experience when working with us?
The well structured process and delivery of great candidates – receiving a briefing call on the range of candidates prior to presenting their CV’s I found very beneficial and could see that they had been well screened and considered, and strong fits for the role.

Why would you recommend us to others?
I feel as though BMS really understand the technical and industrial sales context, the landscape of relevant candidates and recruiting within that which for me was a big stand out and I believe delivered our desired result in a very short period of time in comparison to other experiences, albeit in different countries, has been difficult to find.
