The Company: Founded in 2015, this mission-driven technology organisation has secured both private and public funding for its work in the sector so far. The hardware and software products are connected through innovative IOT solutions and will solve real world problems.

The company are at a point of high growth and have hired Field Service Technicians, Account Directors, Salespeople, an Ops Director, Software Engineers, a Marketing professional, and now this Product Management role. It is an exciting time as the business look to scale their existing market reach across the UK&I. Not only that, but the company have also already begun looking at international distribution partnerships and in future want to take their product to different sectors and industries too.

If you are a highly driven, customer-centric Product Manager with experience of launching hardware (and software) products from concept to launch and beyond then this is the role for you.

The Role: This Product Manager role is an excellent opportunity for someone to come in and take the strategic lead for this exciting and growing technology provider. This role is the first time Product Management will be brought in-house as the business look to scale. The role reports to the Engineering Director and CEO and is a senior role within the business.

The Product Manager will lead the charge in the development and deployment of the client’s hardware products, providing a focal point to drive features into highly scalable solutions. As the first Product role in the business this role will be both strategic and hands-on. As the business grows the role will become more strategic.

You will work directly with external partners to understand the market and customer needs, define product roadmaps, ensure the product lines get to market and achieve commercial success. You will implement best practices and continuously improve efficiencies and quality of deliveries.

Responsibilities for the position of Product Manager:

  • Work closely with hardware and software technical leads and engineers to drive technology advancements through to commercialisation
  • Be the voice of the customer, bring methodologies of how to speak to, engage with, and make sure the customer is the main group in driving product change, adaptation, and new product launches.
  • Define products based on market needs, assess and shape requirements based on customer needs and commercial outcomes
  • Manage complex projects at a large scale, spanning functional teams and cross functional initiatives
  • Track progress, evaluate risk, communicate status to upper management and external stakeholders
  • Engage and energise the project teams to achieve aggressive goals
  • Remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress, identify gaps in communication or schedule, manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing competing priorities, and drive results proactively
  • Understand technical implementation at the architectural level and propose technical alternatives when necessary; ask questions that clarify priorities and push the team to be effective
  • Support technical and strategic planning, leading conversations with key stakeholders to develop concepts for initiatives and developing those into detailed program / project plans (including roadmaps, funding planning, resource planning, and hiring goals)


Requirements
:

  • Hardware and Technical Product Management experience
  • Management of Product Roadmap from conception to launch to commercialisation
  • Experience of Agile/Waterfall or other project management methodologies
  • Experience working with IOT applications
  • Lead product for small, fast growing, innovative companies
  • Team player and excellent communicator

The Package for Product Manager:

  • Salary: £65,000-75,000
