The Role: The Product Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing the marketing strategy for your defined product category (including pricing, promotion, NPD, and packaging development), in line with overall business objectives.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and deliver the strategy and marketing activity to support product category in line with business objectives to maximise market share and brand profitability
  • In conjunction with Head of Marketing formulate a category marketing strategy and detailed brand plans, ensuring effective implementation and analysis of performance results.
  • Full analysis of product performance using internal and external sales performance data and on-going review of market and competitor activity.
  • Manage the category P&L ensuring that all strategic initiatives and new product development meets overall profitability targets.
  • Manage ROI analysis on key promotional activities against planned action standards presenting results and recommendations to Head of Marketing and commercial teams.
  • Effectively manage relationships with all external suppliers (PR, advertising, packaging, research etc.) to ensure that agreed objectives are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Effectively manage communication and strong relationships with all internal stakeholders both UK and internationally (sales, finance, operations, and NPD teams).
  • Successfully manage and champion new product development managing the process from concept to implementation, to ensure the achievement of measurable results within lead time and cost parameters.
  • Build effective relationships with communication agencies (advertising and PR) and co-ordinate consumer activity plans.
  • Attend and support relevant trade and consumer shows and events both in UK and internationally.
  • Manage all operational marketing activities i.e. photography, sales forecasting, point of sale management etc.
  • Manage any other duties as required in addition to the above that will be both reasonable and within role capabilities.

This role is a fixed term contract for 9 months.

The Person:

  • Proven experience in a product management role, preferably within an FMCG business.
  • A strong commercial mindset (including min. 2 years P&L management).
  • International outlook and having worked for an international business is a benefit
  • It would be highly desirable for you to have new product development experience.
  • Degree level or equivalent ideally business related.
  • Desirable: CIM Marketing qualification.
  • Driving License

Location: Hampshire but the position may require travel within the UK and internationally therefore a passport and full clean driving licence.

This role is a fixed term contract for 9 months.
