The Role:

Working across a portfolio of health-focused retail brands you will be responsible for product development, packaging and marketing duties within the health and wellness category and requires a team-oriented individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The key focus of this role will be to manage the development of market-leading health and nutrition foods. These foods will be distributed through franchise (B2B), retail and e-commerce (B2C) channels.

Your role will also involve bringing new products to market, experience of developing, building and launching new brands is essential.

The Role:

The key focus of this role will be to manage the development of market-leading health and nutrition foods. These foods will be distributed through franchise (B2B), retail and e-commerce (B2C) channels.

Your role will also involve bringing new products to market, experience of developing, building and launching new brands is essential.

Responsibilities for the position of the Product Development Manager include:

  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers. Act as the main point of contact.
  • Source new suppliers to ensure competitive cost prices, premium product quality and good customer service.
  • Develop new products and identify new product types.
  • Manage the entire NPD process;
  • Monitor and react to product, flavour and packaging trends.
  • Monitor product sales, identify products which are not meeting expectations and provide recommendations to boost sales.
  • Attend trade shows.
  • Manage the packaging design process for all products.
  • Work with the franchise Brand Manager on the development of robust marketing tools to support franchisees in the launch of new and reformulated products.
  • Organise focus groups and capture customer feedback to help direct the development of new products and the reformulation of existing ones.
  • Monitor and respond to online product reviews and aim to increase the number of positive reviews.

To be considered for the role of Product Development Manager you must have

  • At least two years product development experience (preferably food)
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
  • Negotiation experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Confident to present and deliver training.
  • Confident on telephone
  • Tenacious
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

The Package for Product Development Manager:

  • £40,000
