The role of Head of Marketing:

This is a new position within the organisation, designed to bring together the sales and marketing functions, create a best-in-class B2B commercial lead generation marketing strategy, and drive business growth globally. The Head of Marketing will report to the MD and work closely with the Sales Director and Group Marketing Director (of the more established Sister company).

The Head of Marketing will be responsible for a team of direct reports, indirect reports, and agencies to help execute the plans. The first 3 months will include a complete audit of the existing marketing function (limited), meeting with senior stakeholders to establish key goals, and coming up with an appropriate global strategy to meet those goals. The business has invested in Salesforce and Pardot but need someone with prior experience of marketing automation technologies to fully integrate the platform and maximise its functionality.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Marketing Manager to take on a lead marketing role in a global business; or for a current Head of Marketing that wants to have full autonomy over a business’ global marketing strategy.

Day to day responsibilities of the Head of Marketing include:

  • Auditing the current marketing strategy of this global B2B organisation
  • Owning the creation of the commercial B2B lead generation strategy (subscriptions)
  • Creating, in the short-term, brand awareness campaigns to support the recent growth of the business internationally
  • Working with a growing analyst network, leveraging their expertise and knowledge for use in content-lead marketing campaigns
  • Generating a volume of content (either writing, curating or commissioning where necessary) to be used for inbound marketing campaigns
  • Integrating marketing technologies to ensure best-in-class campaigns (Salesforce and Pardot)
  • Managing, coaching, and developing two Marketing Managers. As the business grows so will the team size
  • Upskilling the existing marketing team, making suggestions for growing the team and enhancing the capability
  • Using expert stakeholder management skills to pull together project teams, align commercial goals and targets, and drive value from the marketing function

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Successfully created and delivered a commercial B2B lead generation strategy
  • Worked closely with sales functions and understand how to work best with them
  • Managed a marketing team (internal direct reports, international reports, and agency support)
  • Experience of implementing broad, B2B, marketing campaigns from start to finish
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills (additional languages a benefit)
  • Been the lead marketer in a regional or global marketing role
